HERNANDO, Miss. — DeSoto County officials are asking residents and business owners to document property damage following the recent winter storm. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) is currently collecting data to assess the full impact of the weather event across the state.
Reporting Criteria
It is important to note that MEMA’s reporting criteria are specific to primary structures. Damage documentation should focus on:
- Residential structures (Homes, apartments, condos)
- Commercial businesses
According to agency guidelines, outbuildings such as barns, shops, and sheds are not included in the reporting criteria and should not be submitted through this specific survey.
How to File a Report
