Very cold temperatures greeted Alabamians on the first day of February, with most of the state experiencing readings in the teens, and wind chills making it feel even colder.
The National Weather Service has cold weather warnings in effect until midday in many areas, with winds expected to keep conditions feeling bitterly cold through the morning.
