Wall of Fog Turns Sacramento’s Sunday Drive Into a Slow-Motion Crawl

Dense fog covered much of the Sacramento Valley early Sunday, reducing visibility to about a quarter mile in some areas. Temperatures were in the low 40s, dipping near 39°F around the airport. The fog slowed the morning commute and may return overnight into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has a Dense Fog Advisory in effect from 11 p.m. Saturday through noon Sunday for the central and southern Sacramento Valley, the Delta and the northern San Joaquin Valley, where visibilities could drop below a quarter mile.
