City of Savannah crews treating icy roads after Saturday’s snow

City of Savannah street maintenance crews are out treating roads with a salt and sand mixture Sunday morning after Saturday night’s light snow, according to a Facebook post from Savannah Mayor Van Johnson.

The city received .8 inches of snow, and the city has received reports of some icy road conditions, Johnson said in the post. There have been “a few” weather-related accidents although no major incidents have been reported, the post says.

Johnson said the city has a nine-member team working the street, with three starting at 11 p.m. Saturday night. Six more joined at 2 a.m. Sunday morning…
