NCDOT warns of black ice hazards following weekend snowfall

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Heavy weekend snowfall and continuing subfreezing temperatures will create dangerous black ice conditions across southeastern North Carolina over the next several days, state transportation officials warned Sunday.

The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) made progress clearing roads Sunday, but said snow removal operations will continue for multiple days across the six-county region.
