PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The 50th Annual Meeting Street Telethon proved again that a community can come together on a cold winter night to support the one-of-a-kind school, raising $717,645 for the local non-profit.
As winter temps dipped, the party inside Providence’s school featured mascots, games and local celebrities answering the phones as they rang hot with generous donors on the lines.
The telethon is Meeting Street’s largest annual fundraiser and generates critical support for programs serving more than 7,500 children of all abilities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This year’s three-hour televised event featured stories of hope and success at the unique school’s multiple campuses, all wrapped up in a fun bowling theme.
The teams at WPRI 12, Meeting Street and Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses were once again proud to bring this special event and evening to the community.
