LIVING LINCOLN: Dying yarn at the Lazy Bee Yarn

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – When our crew visited Jessica Dahlgren, the owner of Lazy Bee Yarns, it was a late February afternoon. There had been an unusual reprieve from the brutality of a Nebraska winter. The temperatures were in the upper 50’s, and jet black yarn was drying on a rack outside of her garage/studio space.

“This is a perfect playground,” Jessica tells me. “Especially, you know, in the wintertime when everything is so drab, there’s no color going on. It’s really fun to come in here and just throw around some bright colors. It makes you feel happy, for sure.”

Inside her studio, it’s an explosion of color; neon greens, sandhill-crane inspired kits all lit by a filtered, late winter sun peeking through a window…
