Snoop Dogg’s Daughter Mourns Loss of Infant; Rapper Offers Public Support
Los Angeles, CA – The family of musical icon Snoop Dogg is facing an unimaginable tragedy as his daughter, Cori Broadus, announced the heartbreaking passing of her 10-month-old daughter, Codi. The infant’s death was shared by Broadus on Saturday, prompting an outpouring of support from her father and the wider community.
Cori, 26, took to Instagram Stories to share the devastating news, posting a black and white photo of herself holding her baby with the caption, “Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi 🪽.”
Shortly after her announcement, Snoop Dogg, 54, expressed his solidarity on his own Instagram page. He shared a photo featuring himself with Cori and his sons, Corde, 31, and Cordell, 28, accompanied by a simple yet poignant caption: “💖🙏🏾.”
Codi’s journey began prematurely, with Cori announcing her pregnancy in December 2024 with fiancĂ© Wayne Deuce. In February 2025, she revealed their daughter had arrived at just 25 weeks.
“The princess arrived at 6 months,” Cori wrote on Instagram at the time, acknowledging the challenges of a premature birth. “I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed.
But no matter what God always shows me that He got me! Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s the best!!
Thank You God for getting me this.”
Codi spent six months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a period Cori documented on social media, recognizing September as NICU Awareness Month. “Becoming a NICU mom was not part of the plan, but it became part of my story,” she shared. “I carry my little warrior’s strength with me every day.”
Last month, the family celebrated a significant milestone when Codi was finally able to come home. “She’s home,” Cori joyfully announced on Instagram.
“Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.”
Beyond this recent loss, Cori Broadus has navigated significant personal challenges. Diagnosed with lupus at age 6, she also suffered a stroke in January 2024, which led to a postponement of her planned 2024 wedding to fiancé Wayne Deuce, to whom she got engaged in November 2022.
Snoop Dogg has openly expressed his approval and affection for his daughter’s relationship with Deuce. During a recent appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” he spoke emotionally about their bond.
“I know he’s the one,” Snoop said. “As a father, you know.
I’m gonna speak for him because, as a father, one thing you know is when it’s your baby girl, you ain’t gonna hand her off to nobody who ain’t gonna handle her with care.” Reflecting on watching his daughter grow, he added, “I watched her from creation to now so I’m supposed to get emotional about it.”
