Birmingham construction company faces $170,000 in safety fines

An Alabama construction company is facing hefty federal fines following a trench collapse in Jefferson County.

Investigators from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration found that CB&A Construction, founded in Birmingham in 1997, had workers remove and install drainpipes for Jefferson County under a suspended load with no hard hats.
