UVA student business-owners take on icy parking lots

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Freezing temperatures have kept icy conditions around and many cars still frozen into their parking spots. Seeing the need for snow and ice removal services, UVA student business-owners took up the task.

“It’s been it’s been pretty difficult,” said Griff Gammell, co-founder of Wahoo Washers, a window washing company in Charlottesville. “I think we’ve gone through like four or five shovels that have just snapped with the ice.”

Gammell and Erik Roggie, partial owner of UMovers moving company, said the demand for snow removal services has been hard to keep up with, as people have been boxed in by snow removal efforts on roads and parking lots…
