Charlotte Airport working to resume normal operations with 300-member snow team

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Crews at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport are working nonstop to return to normal services after an historic 11-inch snowfall on Saturday.

This was the city’s fourth highest total in history, and the most amount of snow since February of 2004.

Charlotte gets its highest snow total in more than 20 years

Airport officials say the airport is open and have a 300-member snow team working to clear the airfield, roadways, and pedestrian areas. As of Sunday afternoon, two of CLT’s three runways are cleared and operational for inbound and outbound flights.

On the flip side, as of 1 p.m. on February 1, Charlotte has more than 70 delays and 830 canceled flights.
