COLUMBIA, S.C. — A district usually packed with nightlife was quiet Saturday night as snow and ice created hazardous conditions across The Vista in downtown Columbia.
On Gervais Street there was heavy snowfall and dropping temperatures turned roadways and sidewalks slick and difficult to navigate. Few people were seen walking through the entertainment and restaurant district as conditions worsened.
