Winter weather advisory affecting Southern Michigan until early Monday evening

A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 9:52 a.m. EST in effect until 4 p.m. EST for Cass, St. Joseph, Branch, Hillsdale and Berrien counties.

“Freezing drizzle with ice accumulation of a glaze,” can be expected according to the weather service. “A mix of snow and freezing drizzle will continue to change over to mainly freezing drizzle. Freezing drizzle and temperatures in the low to mid 20s will lead to slick and hazardous roads.”

“Plan on slippery road conditions. Leave plenty of following distance between you and the vehicle ahead of you,” comments the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.”
