College of Liberal Arts and Sciences hosts dean finalists

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) is in the process of hiring a new dean, with finalists giving presentations to various members of the University community.

One-hour presentations have been occurring in the Kirkhof Center, with candidates participating in a serious of interviews with stakeholders, such as faculty, staff, administration and students. The search committee aimed to be highly visible and open to the public in its presentations. Mark Schaub, the dean of Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies, is chairing the search committee.

“The search committee brought each candidate to campus for two days,” Schaub said. “The presentation was public, and everyone in the campus community was welcome to attend. Three (candidates) were selected to come to campus for a second interview. One candidate withdrew because they took another position.”…
