A Long Beach Catholic school community is in shock after vandals trashed the campus sometime Sunday night, with school officials discovering Monday morning that religious items like statues of the Virgin Mary were defaced or destroyed.
“Praying for protection of our school and we just want them to feel safe, but it’s like, this is what happens?” said Principal Cyril Cruz of Holy Innocents School.
The damage was extensive, with the Long Beach Post reporting some of the damaged statues were worth tens of thousands of dollars, while other religious items were simply priceless…
