CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A father is suing Cincinnati Public Schools and Metro after his teenage daughter was seriously injured while crossing the street after getting off a school bus.
The 14-year-old CPS student was struck by a vehicle in October 2024 as she crossed Winton Road in Winton Hills. The student had just gotten off a Metro bus from school and was heading home, which was on the opposite side of the busy street, according to the lawsuit.
“School districts have a high responsibility to transport students safely to their homes and we’ve all seen yellow buses. Yellow buses are highly regulated,” said Konrad Kircher, the family’s attorney.
Dangerous crossing conditions
