COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — An 18-year-old is accused of firing a gun at police officers outside of a police substation over the weekend.
Investigators said it happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday when an unknown gunman drove past the 5th precinct substation located in the 1300 block of Cleveland Ave. and fired several shots at officers standing at their cruisers.
Officers tried a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the suspect drove off and later crashed the vehicle. He then tried to run away after digging around in the floorboard and ignoring several commands to show his hands, police said.
