‘You’re dead!’ Charleston woman allegedly said moments before Clements Ferry Road shooting

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Seconds before allegedly shooting Arthur Broughton Jr. while driving along Clements Ferry Road, the Charleston woman arrested for the crime supposedly told the 39-year-old man he was going to die.

Wonique Broughton is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, according to local law enforcement.

The 35-year-old Charleston woman, when she was first questioned by law enforcement, told police she shot and killed Broughton because he was assaulting her and some children, who were not in the vehicle…
