An employee of the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office was fired Monday, Feb. 2, after being arrested at his home.
The sheriff’s office issued a statement Monday afternoon saying that Adrian Martinez, Jr. was arrested after deputies were called to a domestic incident at Martinez’s home on Robinhood Drive.
“It was determined that probable cause existed for the arrest of Mr. Martinez, Jr.,” the statement from the sheriff’s office said. “[Martinez, Jr.] was charged with False Imprisonment and Simple Battery.”
The sheriff’s office said Martinez, Jr. was immediately terminated from his position with the agency. He had been employed with the sheriff’s office as a detention officer since May 30, 2024…
