FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Two restaurants with locations in the Summit City are donating Monday’s profits to a cause that honors the company’s late founder.
By dining at Bubba’s 33 or Texas Roadhouse on Monday, customers are supporting the American Tinnitus Association, which works to bring awareness to the sensation of ringing in the ear, prevention efforts and research. The founder of both restaurants, Kent Taylor, struggled with severe tinnitus as a lasting effect of COVID-19 and died by suicide in 2021, Forbes reported.
Taylor had committed to funding a clinical study of the disability in military members, who commonly suffer from tinnitus due to frequent exposure to loud noises in combat. Millions of people deal with chronic tinnitus, a large portion of whom are service members.
