Hanford (Calif.) High School 2027 athlete AJ Williams had caught attention from college coaches and scouts with his 6-foot-3 frame. In late-January, his recruitment ramped up with not just his first scholarship offer, but six.
Hometown Fresno State was among the six offers received within a week’s time. First was Oregon State – Several days later he added offers from UNLV, Fresno State, Idaho, and Cal Poly one after the other. And on Jan. 28, Montana State also joined the list.
His first offer came by phone call from Oregon State on Jan. 22. Williams said, “My mom was recording and she shed a couple of tears. After I hung up, I gave my mom probably a 10-second hug. It was cool and something good to experience for my mom.”…
