Personally, I’m excited about the new neighborhood Walmart planned for the Mulberry area. Notwithstanding the concerns of the Villagers in the Phillips Villas area. This is a beautiful neighborhood nestled in the north end of The Villages just inside a commercially zoned area. The zoned area is not new and has always been a threat for commercial projects. There is only one entrance and exit for Phillips that is video monitored. I believe this will mitigate any additional crime in the neighborhood. The other neighborhood Walmart near Colony Plaza hasn’t posed any additional crimes except in the Walmart itself with people skip scanning products.
