LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles County prosecutors opted against immediately filing any criminal charges against actor Kiefer Sutherland stemming from his recent arrest in Hollywood, asking police instead Monday to conduct additional investigation into the matter, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Sutherland, 59, was arrested in the early morning hours of Jan. 12 after police responded to a call of a possible assault near Fairfax Avenue and Sunset Boulevard.
Police arrested Sutherland, best known for his work on the drama “24” and films including “Flatliners” and “Stand By Me,” after being told he entered a ride-hailing vehicle and assaulted the driver while also making criminal threats.
