Ice storm leaves Nashville plant shop with 100k loss; says insurance denied claim

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A local plant shop in Old Hickory says a week without power after last week’s ice storm left its shelves nearly empty and its owner facing what she estimates as more than $100,000 in losses.

Lawrence & Clarke Cacti Co. owner Kimberly Daft said frigid temperatures during the outage cold-damaged plants beyond the point of selling.

“It’s strange to see it like this. We’ve bagged up hundreds, if not thousands, of plants that didn’t make it,” Daft said…
