A retail fraud investigation at Eastview Mall ended with an arrest after deputies say a store employee carried out multiple fraudulent returns.
Deputies took a 19-year-old Rochester man into custody Sunday after Macy’s reported an internal complaint at its Eastview Mall location in the Town of Victor.
According to investigators, the employee allegedly selected merchandise from the store, did not pay for it, and then processed returns for the items on six separate occasions. Authorities say the scheme caused Macy’s a loss of $815.03.
Deputies charged the man with falsifying business records in the first degree and petit larceny. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Victor Court at a later date to answer the charges…
