CLARKSBURG, Calif. — Small wineries at the historic Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg are celebrating a fresh start after months of uncertainty tied to foreclosure concerns.
Built in 1934 as a beet sugar refinery, the Old Sugar Mill is now home to more than a dozen wineries and also serves as an event venue. That future appeared uncertain after the former owner died about five months ago, leaving the property facing foreclosure and tenants unsure whether they could continue operating.
