Atlanta, Georgia – Winter’s grip is expected to loosen gradually across Georgia, even as Groundhog Day tradition suggests a slower nationwide transition toward spring. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow Monday morning, signaling six more weeks of winter and pushing broader seasonal expectations closer to mid-March.
According to the National Weather Service, Georgia is part of a Southeast region favored for above-normal temperatures from February through April.
