Tyson projects major beef losses, plans Lexington Plant closure

LEXINGTON, Neb. — Tyson Foods said it is projected to lose millions of dollars in its beef segment, which led to changes, including the closure of its Lexington facility.

In its quarterly earnings call Monday morning, Tyson said it is projected to lose $250 to $500 million in fiscal 2026 in its beef segment. The company said this led to it making the decision to close its Lexington plant and to scale back operations at its Amarillo, Texas, plant to a single shift.
