An automotive repair store in southeast Fort Worth collapsed Saturday night during a two-alarm fire, officials with the Fort Worth Fire Department said.
The Fort Worth Fire Department received multiple calls around 8:30 p.m. regarding smoke and a large fire coming from a building in the 2900 block of Vaughn Boulevard, officials said.
When firefighters arrived, they found an automotive service and repair business engulfed in heavy fire that was threatening nearby businesses and residences. The crews worked to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to surrounding buildings, officials said.
Firefighters searched for anyone inside and rang a second alarm to bring more resources to “battle the blaze in below freezing temperatures,” officials said.
The automotive service business contained multiple flammable materials that fueled the fire. About 10 minutes later, crews were told to evacuate, as the main part of the 75-year-old building began to sag and collapsed…
