Woman strikes last minute plea deal in the killing of local Milwaukee dentist

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) — The woman accused of killing a local Brown Deer dentist in April of last year pleaded no contest to homicide by negligent use of a firearm.

Jury selection was supposed to begin on Monday morning, but around 1:30 p.m., 28-year-old Keionna McGowan pleaded no contest to the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Akintunde Bowden.

In court, security video from the hallway of an apartment complex near Park Plaza Court and Brown Deer Road shows Bowden knocking on McGowan’s door. The partially obstructed security video shows Bowden lifting his leg, and some movement.

When police arrived at the scene, officers say McGowan was running, screaming for help. When officers entered her apartment, they saw Bowden with a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen…
