Former St. Louis television news anchor Angelynn Mock has been found mentally unfit to stand trial in connection with the alleged stabbing death of her mother in Wichita, Kansas.
Mock, charged with first-degree murder, is accused of killing her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers, at their home on Oct. 31, 2025.
The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said a competency evaluation submitted to the court on Jan. 15 found Mock is not currently competent to proceed, reports KAKE. A judge ordered her committed to Larned State Hospital for additional evaluation and treatment, as required under Kansas law. Criminal proceedings are suspended while Mock undergoes treatment, though the case remains active…
