A St. Landry Parish Grand Jury indicted an Opelousas mother and father for the death of their eight-week-old daughter.
Kaylee Faye Fontenot, 20, and Taylor Daniel Broussard, 19, were formally charged with first-degree murder in connection with the case, according to a St. Landry Parish district attorney announcement.
The charges come after police responded on Oct. 25 shortly after 8 p.m. to a Liberty Street home in an attempt to revive the infant. A few days later, an autopsy report showed the infant had previous and recent internal injuries, including internal bleeding, multiple broken ribs and a severed spine…
