Reward offered after bald eagle shot, killed in Louisiana

(KTAL/KMSS) – A bald eagle was killed in Vermillion Parish, and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is offering a $6K reward to find the person responsible.

LDWF was notified of the illegal shooting and killing of the bird on December 5, 2025. Agents with the department located the bald eagle at the intersection of Robert Road and Wilmer Road in Erath and brought it in for examination. The exam determined that the gunshot wound was fatal.

A reward of up to $6,000 is being offered to anyone who can provide information leading to the conviction of the responsible parties…
