A new development plan is under review in Broomfield that could bring a new “health campus” that includes mixed-use commercial and housing to the northern part of town.
At this stage, the plan for UCHealth’s proposed Broomfield north campus is in front of city officials and residents as part of a concept review. In a concept review, the public can share feedback with the developer team before the team submits a formal development application, according to a Broomfield webpage for the proposal process.
“As the northern side of the metro Denver area has grown in recent years, so have the health care needs of the community. Now, residents in this area need more access to excellent health care,” Dan Weaver, a UCHealth spokesperson, told the Broomfield Enterprise in an email. “UCHealth is talking to Broomfield leaders and local residents to gain their input about concept plans for a vibrant health campus that will include a hospital, specialty clinics and mixed-use options including retail, dining, hospitality and housing.”
The development is slated for a 110-acre parcel on the northwest corner of the interchange of Interstate 25 and Colo. 7, Weaver said. The land is to be purchased from Ikea, which bought land there in 2016, according to previous reporting…
