A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. Monday afternoon for the Seward Highway corridor from Primrose north to Turnagain Pass, according to the National Weather Service.
Periods of freezing rain and rain are expected through the late morning, with ice accumulations around a light glaze possible. While precipitation amounts are forecast to be minimal—ranging from a trace to a few hundredths of an inch—conditions may still be hazardous, especially on untreated roads and cold surfaces.
Temperatures are hovering near freezing this morning and are expected to climb into the mid-30s around midday. However, surface temperatures may remain at or below freezing, allowing any additional light rain to freeze on contact and create slick conditions.
