IRONDALE, Ala. (WIAT) — Jefferson County school leaders opened a facility to train the next generation of mechanics and automobile professionals.
Jefferson County Schools Superintendent Walter Gonsoulin helped cut the ribbon at the Automotive Technology Center at Shades Valley High School on Monday morning. The center will provide hands-on training in courses like auto maintenance and collision repair.

Taki Sarhaan, Shades Valley High School’s principal, said program graduates can walk out of high school with certifications and right into a job.
