FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Newly reopened “Starving Artists” in Fresno is unable to have live entertainment, the restaurant announced on social media, prompting the venue to suspend all live performances indefinitely.
Management anticipates the situation to be “temporary” and will let the public know when both open mic and scheduled performances resume.

A reason for the suspension of live performances was not released by the restaurant. However, officials from the state’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) tell YourCentralValley.com that the venue’s alcohol license, which was being transferred from the previous owner to the new owner, did not allow for live music. Those conditions would still exist on the new license.
“I understand that the previous licensee may have had live music, however that would have been a violation of their operating conditions and could have subjected them to possible fines or suspensions if a complaint was filed,” wrote Devin Blankenship with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control in a statement to YourCentralValley.com…
