USGS: Earthquake reported in WNC

TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake in western North Carolina on Tuesday morning.

Officials said the 1.7 magnitude quake hit 3.7 miles west of Rosman, North Carolina at 6:50 a.m. at a depth of 3 kilometers.

According to the agency, the earthquake was also 26.9 miles northwest of Easley, South Carolina and 26.9 miles west-southwest of Hendersonville, North Carolina…
