Sweden, N.Y. — A false call led to several road closures Monday afternoon in the town of Sweden, according to Deputy David Marcucci of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 4:20 p.m. to the area of Ogee Road and Hollybrook Road after a 911 caller claimed someone was shot in the area, Marcucci said. A perimeter was established at the scene and nearby traffic was briefly shut down.
Deputies determined the call was fake, nobody was shot and there was never any threat to the public, Marcucci said. The sheriff’s office worked with the Brockport Police Department, SUNY Brockport police and the Monroe County Regional Investigative Operations Center during the investigation…
