Shoplifter apprehended after allegedly hiding stolen merchandise under clothes at Walmart

A Tampa woman will appear in court next week for the attempted theft of $48 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

An asset protection employee of Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., noticed 28-year-old Shecura Elliott stealing merchandise over surveillance cameras around 9 a.m., Jan. 26, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department.

She started in the home department by concealing items under her clothes. She then walked to a self checkout register where she put all the merchandise in a plastic bag without scanning any of it. She then headed toward the exit and passed all points of sale, the report said…
