New coalition wants to hold Micron to their promises to CNY region

Micron’s arrival in upstate New York brings with it the promise of tens of thousands of jobs and economic growth throughout the region. Some community members, however, are wary of the massive chipmaker’s commitment to those promises. That’s why a new coalition launched just days after the groundbreaking to ensure Micron is held accountable to their commitments.

“Micron’s made a lot of promises to the community, but without enforceable commitments, we are, you know, unsure if those promises will result in deliverables,” Syracuse Organizing Manager for Jobs to Move America Khadeejah Ahmad said.
