Snow angels step in as neighbors clear driveways after Triad storm

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — As city and state crews continue prioritizing interstates, highways and other primary roads after last weekend’s winter storm, many residential streets across the Triad remain covered in snow and ice. In the meantime, neighbors across the region are stepping up to help one another, often without being asked.

In Forsyth County’s Rural Hall community, Bob Leun spent hours clearing snow from his driveway and those of three elderly neighbors using his tractor.

“Well, the snow, trying to stay warm,” Leun said. “I had been going out and scraping my driveway every time we had the ice storm last week and the snow this week, and then I went to three of my neighbors’ driveways as well because they’re in their 70s, 80s, and stuff.”…
