Mosses residents question chief’s fitness for office

Kelvin Mitchell, interim police chief for the Town of Mosses, addressed citizens at the town’s Jan. 20 meeting. The former Hayneville Police Chief defended his fitness to act as Mosses chief amid citizen concerns that he may not be the best man for the job.

Mitchell told town leaders and citizens about efforts to get the Mosses police department back up and running. Then, he addressed accusations which he said came up at the town’s December meeting.

“There were some accusations about me last time [the council] had a meeting,” Mitchell said. “I want to clear them up.”…
