CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Mecklenburg County grand jury has formally indicted an 18-year-old accused of causing a deadly crash in south Charlotte that killed two women.
According to court documents, Jason Anthony Scott was served with a true bill of indictment on Jan. 21, 2026. Records show the case is now due back in court on March 19.
The indictment stems from a deadly crash that happened around 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 27 near the intersection of Red Rust Lane and Ardrey Kell Road, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. Investigators said a 2013 BMW driven by Scott collided with a 2011 Honda CR-V.
