Man charged with killing pregnant woman in Downers Grove released from hospital, back in custody, DuPage County authorities say

DUPAGE COUNTY, Ill. — The Westmont man charged with killing a pregnant woman in Downers Grove last week has been released from the hospital after being treated for apparently self-inflicted injuries and is back in custody at the DuPage County Correctional Facility, the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Sunday.

Nedas Revuckas, 19, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition Thursday evening after suffering what appeared to be self-inflicted injuries. The sheriff’s office did not say how he harmed himself.

Revuckas is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing 30-year-old Eliza Morales 70 times, mostly in the head and neck, on Monday, Jan. 26, and then setting her apartment on fire, all over a Facebook Marketplace sale gone wrong, according to prosecutors.

Morales, who was five months pregnant, leaves behind her husband and toddler, both of whom were not home at the time of the incident…
