ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a man’s death after he was found injured in a parking lot. APD says Tuesday around 4:30 a.m. officers were called to the area of San Pedro and Lomas to investigate reports of a possible crash involving a pedestrian.

Police say Albuquerque Community Safety (ACS) was first called to the scene in reference to a person needing assistance. When ACS responders arrived they found a man with injuries laying on the ground. The man spoke with responders, and said he was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot. The man was taken to the hospital for with a fractured ankle and head injury. Police say he died a short time after arriving at the hospital. APD’s Fatal Crash Unit is investigating.
