‘Never happened before’: Parents react as illness closes Colton schools

Colton, Ore. (KOIN) — Too many sick students and staff forced schools in the Colton School District to close Monday as district leaders report a sharp spike in absenteeism late last week.

The Clackamas County district says illness spread quickly through classrooms, particularly at the elementary level, prompting leaders to cancel class district-wide to allow time for recovery and deep cleaning.
