The National Weather Service (NWS) is now expecting a trace to around half an inch of snow across much of Maryland and Northern Virginia. If this light snow materializes, it could begin between 8pm and 10pm tonight and continue into the early morning hours, ending sometime between 2am and 5am tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
Barring any last-minute changes, this event is unlikely to meet the criteria for a Winter Weather Advisory in the immediate area. However, the National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for parts of the region due to potential impacts during the Wednesday morning commute.
