PALMER TWP., Pa. – The Palmer Township Board of Supervisors on Monday night advanced a zoning map amendment that would pave the way for a proposed group care facility.
The applicant, Joseph I LP, plans to construct a five-story group care facility on a 4.4 acre lot at 3601 Corriere Road. The parcel is currently zoned High Density Residential, where such use is not permitted. To continue with the project, the applicant requested changing the parcel to the Planned Office/Business designation, where such use is permitted.
The township defines a “group care facility,” in part, as any premises in which food, shelter, assisted living services, assistance or supervision and supplemental health care services are provided for a period exceeding 24 hours…
