Feeding Greene Inc., has received $3,700 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help nourish neighbors experiencing unger. The Nourishing our Neighbors grant supports community feeding partners by helping neighbors increase their access to nutritious food and providing nutrition education to eliminate health risks for those experiencing food insecurity.
These funds will be used to support our Backpack Program,” said Rhonda Oliver, director for Feeding Greene Inc. “We collaborate with all our local schools in Greene County to provide food to children at risk of food insecurity each weekend through the school year. We also provide holiday and summer boxes for the times of the year the children are out of school. Thank you for supporting our mission that no one goes to bed hungry in our community!”
